The NBS Archives are open to the public at the following times:

9 a.m. to 12 noon /
12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m.
In July, August and September the Archives are closed to the public.
The Archives will be closed on 18 and 25 February 2025.
Ľudová banka, Sabinov
Ľudová banka, účastinná spoločnosť (People’s Bank, joint-stock company), Sabinov, was established in 1872 under the Hungarian name Kis-Szebeni takarékpénztár, r. t. Its registered capital amounted to 70,000 guldens. The company was authorised to provide universal banking services in accordance with law including taking deposits, providing loans and performing any banking operations.
It ranked among smaller credit institutions. All records of its operations from its establishment to 1907 are missing. According to the Compass year books, its net profit for 1907 was 13,000 Austro-Hungarian crowns (K), deposits on savings books amounted to K 840,000 and it had provided K 850,000 in loans. In 1922 its net profit reached 14,000 Czechoslovak crowns (Kč), savings book deposits were Kč 1.77 million and it had receivables of Kč 2 million.
At that time the members of the board of directors and supervisory board were Ignác Rosenfeld, Antal Eiszelt, Jozef Samer, Emil Thay, Artúr Windt, Gustáv Altman, Nándor Szepessy, Vojtech Prokopovits, Hektor Ehlers and Peter Hartsár; the treasurer was Izidor Klein.
Ľudová banka remained in operation until 1925, when its liquidation was completed under the supervision of Slovenská všeobecná úverná banka (Slovak General Credit Bank), Bratislava.
Preserved archival material on the bank was stored in the archives of Štátna banka československá (State Bank of Czechoslovakia) in Bratislava until 1965, when it was transferred to the archives of Štátna banka československá at 2 Šrobárova Street in Košice by order of the Slovak Archives Administration. After 1990 the fonds was relocated to the archives of Národná banka Slovenska at 27 Krajná Street in Bratislava and it was moved to the building at 8 Cukrová Street in Bratislava in 2003.
An inventory of the archival fonds was made in the archives of Štátna banka československá in 1967. It was revised in the archives of Národná banka Slovenska in 2016.
