Krupinská ľudová banka, Krupina
Krupinská ľudová banka (Krupina People’s Bank) was established under the Hungarian name Korponai takarék és hitelintézet, részvénytársaság (Krupina Savings and Credit Institution) in 1904 as a new legal entity with share capital of 30,000 Austro-Hungarian crowns (K). The share capital was raised to K 60,000 in 1906. On 7 February 1909, the shareholders decided to change the name to Korponai népbank (Krupina People’s Bank). Two years later the share capital was raised to K 120,000. In 1917 Krupinská ľudová banka concluded an affiliation agreement with Hungaria bank, Budapest, and the share capital was raised to K 300,000. At the end of 1920, the bank’s shareholders approved a merger with Zvolenská ľudová banka (Zvolen People´s Bank) whereupon Krupinská ľudová banka ceased to exist as a separate legal entity and, together with the former Krupinská sporiteľňa, became part of the Krupina branch of Zvolenská ľudová banka. The latter bank became Národná banka (National Bank) with its headquarters in Banská Bystrica from 1921.
The preserved documentation of the bank consists of five books of minutes of the management board of directorate covering the period 1904 to 1920. As Krupinská ľudová banka was under Hungarian management, its documents were written in Hungarian. Entries from 1920 were also made in Slovak. The archival fonds was processed in the archives of Národná banka Slovenska in 2008 and an inventory was made, which was revised in 2016.
